After a few weeks of teases, Revocation have put forth their first single from their upcoming album The Outer Ones. As the album title, artwork, song title and lyrics in "Of Unworldly Origin" suggest, what we have here is a solid slab of Lovecraftian inspired death metal.
As promised by guitarist/frontman Dave Davidson, this is Revocation at their most death metal. The frantic energy the band is known for still stands front and center but there are riffs peppered throughout that are reminiscent of Morbid Angel and Suffocation. Plus a pretty sweet lead that would make Marty Friedman proud.
Put it on repeat and say a prayer to the elder gods. The Outer Ones comes out September 28th via MetalBlade Records.
