Jeff Locke must be yanked from the Pirates' rotation. NO CHOICE.

In his last six starts, Locke has pitched just 26.2 innings. He's allowed 24 earned runs, surrendering 45 hits and walking 17.

Locke, like so many young pitchers, hit a wall. Or maybe the wall hit him.

The Pirates must look for an answer. An alternative. Brandon Cumpton. Jeanmar Gomez. Kris Johnson. Who should it be? Vote, please, in the poll at left.

The Pirates are going to make the playoffs. There's wiggle room.

The rest of the season should be about winning, certainly.

But it should also be about taking inventory of all potential resources.

This isn't about rewarding Locke, showing faith, or having patience. It's not about developing. It's about maximizing.

It's not about the future. It's about RIGHT NOW.

#BUCN 'til #BUCTOBER? Guess what? #BUCTOBER is almost upon us. Clint Hurdle and his staff need to be prepared.

Locke is throwing creampuffs. He's done. Next man up.
