I worked with The Ultimate Warrior in WCW. Once, in casual conversation, I called him "Jim." His birth name was Jim Hellwig. He glared and said, "I go by Warrior." That was his legal name. It was actually on his driver's license. I replied, "Does it really matter?" He broke character, laughed and said, "No."
But Jim Hellwig was The Ultimate Warrior. He believed. That's why we believed.
Warrior was a great guy. Wrestling is the island of misfit toys, but 95 percent of the boys are good people. I miss the camaraderie most.
Ultimate Warrior, RIP. Gone, like so many, far too soon.
