Ben Ketola of Syracuse, N.Y., bowled a perfect game in 86.9 seconds. Ten lanes, 12 strikes. A world record.
Ernie McCracken never did that. He never bowled with two hands, either.
Much about this video is disturbing, not least somebody intermittently murmuring, “Yeah, baby, come on” in vaguely sexual fashion.
Ketola’s accomplishment reminds me of this exchange between Roy McAvoy (Kevin Costner) and David Simms (Don Johnson) in “Tin Cup,” golf’s version of “Bull Durham.”
McAvoy: “You ever shoot par with a seven-iron?”
David Simms: “Why, hell, Roy, it never even occurred to me to try.”
