BREAK THE WALLS DOWN

Who says pro wrestling is fake?

Watch Jonno Mears of Rochdale, England win this MMA bout by making his foe tap to a pro wrestling hold, the Walls of Jericho (a/k/a the Boston Crab). Y2J’s technique is a bit cleaner, but winning is what counts.

Most pro wrestling holds have the potential to hurt like crazy.

At a bar (where else?), I once saw a nondescript college football player allow Ric Flair to apply his finisher, the figure-four leglock – the premise being that said football player felt he could easily escape.

He couldn’t, but condescendingly remarked that “it doesn’t hurt.”

So Ric clamped down and yanked up, and screaming filled the room. Good times.
