Penguins Re-Assign Joseph Blandisi to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Joseph Blandisi to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Blandisi, 25, played in 21 games for Pittsburgh at various different points this season, registering two goals, three assists and five points. His latest goal came in the Penguins’ win on December 20 at Edmonton. 

The Markham, Ontario native passed the 100 career NHL games played mark on January 4 in Montreal and has totaled 31 points (10G-21A) in 101 games split between Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and New Jersey.

This year at the AHL level with WBS, Blandisi has three goals, four assists, and seven points in 13 games. 

Pittsburgh faces the Minnesota Wild tonight, January 14 with a 7:00 PM puck drop. Tonight is ‘Pittsburgh Theme Night’ at PPG Paints Arena. There will be a live performance from The Clarks during intermission, more than a dozen local mascots and Pittsburgh theme foods at the concession stands, among other activities.
