The Penguins foundation was able to raise $20,000 from its recent Green Jersey Auction. Proceeds will be donated to help those impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Penguins Foundation Donating $20,000 From Green Jersey Auction to Help Those Impacted by Coronavirus Pandemic

The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation raised $20,000 from its auction of green St. Patrick’s Day jerseys and will donate $5,000 each to four community groups working on behalf of those impacted by coronavirus COVID-19.

Donations are being made to:

  • Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
  • Western PA Diaper Bank
  • Rainbow Kitchen
  • Salvation Army carry-out meal program

The Penguins’ donation to the Salvation Army program, in particular, will provide 1,700 meals in one week.

“We want to thank our fans for once again coming through to assist residents of our community who are in need at this difficult time,” said Jim Britt, executive director of the Penguins Foundation.
