The Pa Department of Health held its Daily Health Briefing at 2 pm. Notes from the briefing are below. You can watch the full briefing HERE or using the Facebook post below.
Dr. Levine
- Approx. 5% of our total cases of COVID-19 are healthcare workers.
- Less than 1% are in nursing homes.
- More than 514 patients have required hospitalization.
- That is approx. 10% of all those who have tested positive for COVID-19.
- 159 of the 514 have needed to be in the ICU.
- Ninety-four in the ICU have required the use of a ventilator.
- 63 deaths in the state due to COVID-19
- Stay-At-Home order has been expanded to 33 counties.
- New counties include Cameron, Crawford, Forest, Franklin, Lawrence, Lebanon, and Somerset.
- All residents across the state have been encouraged to stay home.
- Stay Calm. Stay Home. Stay Safe.
- We need to continue to stay home and stay safe to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and keep from overwhelming our healthcare system.

The Pa Department of Health shared updated numbers of Covid-19 cases in the state. As of this morning, there is now a total 4,843 in Pennsylvania. That is just over 750 new cases since yesterday. There are now 63 deaths. 37,645 patients have tested negative.
Breakdown of cases in western Pennsylvania :
- Allegheny: 325
- Fayette: 14
- Washington: 33
- Beaver: 52
- Butler: 60
- Lawrence: 13
- Westmoreland: 61
- Mercer: 8
- Greene: 9
- Armstrong: 5
- Indiana: 6
- Venango: 3

Allegheny County Health Department released their daily update for COVID-19 cases in the area. As of this morning, there are now 325 positive cases in the county. 51 of those cases (past or present) have required hospitalization. There have been two deaths.

Breakdown of cases by age group:
- 0-4 years: 1
- 5-12 years: 1
- 13-18 years: 5
- 19-24 years: 33
- 25-49 years: 140
- 50-64 years: 92
- 65+ years: 53
"The department continues to trace the contacts of people who have confirmed COVID-19 and is recommending self-quarantine when needed. We strongly urge all people in Allegheny County to stay at home to slow the spread of the virus in our community."
