Because we love ‘em all. Here’s your 90’s Video of the Day:
Blink 182 - Dammit (Growing Up)
In the early days of the band, Blink 182 was just a band that the record label still wasn’t quite sure about, according to Mark Hoppus. However, he said that the label’s uncertainty meant no one was supervising them when they got to make their first big time music video.
The band used the opportunity to do whatever they wanted. They improvised the storyline as they saw fit with director Darren Doane and Ken Daurio encouraging them. In the video Mark Hoppus shoots his shot with an ex-girlfriend who he tries to steal back from her new lover at the movies. They snuck their band manager Rick DeVoe in as an extra playing a snack bar attendant but loved his cameo so much they worked him into the video even more with the fun twist at the end.
I’m such a sucker for Tom DeLonge mouthing “I love you” to Mark Hoppus. Awwww. And yep, Travis Barker wasn’t in the band just yet!
