Now We Actually Know Why MGK and Corey Taylor Are Fighting.

Listen, it wouldn’t be my move of choice to start a fight with Slipknot, but seems like Machine Gun Kelly and Corey Taylor actually know each other a lot better than we thought. As in, Corey Taylor contributed to a Machine Gun Kelly track that was to appear on Tickets To My Downfall, that never made the final album. And Corey HAS RECEIPTS.

Let’s catch you up first. Machine Gun Kelly helped close out Riot Fest on Sunday night (September 19) and took time during his set to talk trash about one of the festival's other headliners, Slipknot. Slipknot was playing at the same time on another stage. After asking the techs to turn the house lights up, MGK said he wanted to “See who chose to be here instead of with all the old weird dudes with masks.” He later added, “Hey, you all know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old, wearing a f–kin’ weird mask on a f–kin’ stage.” Machine Gun Kelly said he was responding to Corey, and was not the instigator of the spat.

He’s referring to Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor who on “Cutters Rockcast” podcast slammed MGK even though he didn’t mention him by name.“I [hate] the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock — and I think he knows who he is. But that’s another story,” Taylor said back in February.

Machine Gun Kelly has now doubled down and decided to reveal just how well he and Corey know each other. “Corey did a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album, it was f–king terrible, so i didn’t use it,” MGK, tweeted Tuesday afternoon. “He got mad about it, and talked s–t to a magazine about the same album he was almost on. Yall's stories are all off. just admit he’s bitter.”

Corey has fired back responding with a tweet of his own and screenshots of an email exchange. "I don't like people airing private sh*t like a child. So this is all I’ll say: I didn’t do the track because I don’t like when people try to ‘write’ for me. I said no to them. So without further ado.... #receipts. This is all I'm going to say about it."

The "receipts" he provided were two screenshots of emails. The first was a message that he received from Blink-182's Travis Barker, who worked on Tickets to My Downfall with Kelly. Barker claimed that he and Kelly loved what Taylor apparently sent them, and pasted a couple of notes from MGK underneath.
