I’m told the HBO movie “Paterno” will not be well-received by the JoeBots who still defend Creepy Valley like it’s the Alamo. But anything that paints poor, dead Joe as anything less than an outright saint wouldn’t be.
Boy, Al Pacino sure looks a lot like Paterno.
The movie premieres this spring, and concentrates almost exclusively on Paterno’s disastrous last few weeks as Penn State coach. Director Barry Levinson says the film serves no “agenda.”
I guarantee that won’t be the perception.
I’m anxious to see the movie. I bet it’s very good. But I have regret about its existence, because it will bring the JoeBots out of the woodwork to engage their warped debate all over again.
That, I can do without.
