ARMED AND READY

Michael Schenker Fest was absolutely incredible last night at Carnegie Library Music Hall in Homestead: Two-and-a-half hours, four singers, an amazing retrospective of the guitarist’s nonpareil 46-year career.

Here’s a couple videos from the tour’s stop in Tokyo, long a Schenker stronghold: Graham Bonnet sings lead on “Dancer” from the 1982 LP “Assault Attack.” Robin McAuley handles the vocals on “Save Yourself” from the 1989 album of the same name.

Schenker was blistering last night. At the top of his game. For me, he’s one of the top guitar players of all time. It’s all personal preference, but I rate Jimmy Page first, Schenker second and Eddie Van Halen third.
