Gregory Polanco is 26. He’s played baseball his whole life. He’s been in the major leagues five years. He’s played professionally since 2009.

How the heck can Polanco not know how to slide?

It’s actually not so hard to believe when Polanco’s numerous base-running and fielding gaffes are considered. Polanco would flunk Baseball 101. If it wasn’t for his natural ability, “El Coffee” might be a barista.

But this was costly. This particular piece of lunacy injured Polanco’s left knee and left (throwing) shoulder, with the latter injury severe enough to require surgery. Rumor has it that Polanco might not be ready by the start of next season.

No sympathy here. What a dope.
