The Boston Red Sox won the World Series. Money talks.
P David Price has been mostly horse***t in the post-season for his entire career. But he won two games in this year's World Series, including the championship-clinching Game 5.
Afterward, Price reveled in having proved the media wrong. Break out the champagne!
"I hold all the cards now," Price told reporters. "That feels so good. I can't tell you how good it feels to hold that trump card. And you guys have had it for a long time. You've played that card extremely well. But you don't have it anymore, none of you do, and that feels really good."
Petty. Tom Petty.
Price didn't prove the media wrong. Price sucked in the playoffs for years. His post-season ERA is still a whopping 4.62.
Price shook off his own history of failure in the clutch, and that has nothing to do with the media.
What a sad man. At 33, Price won his first World Series ever. And one of his initial responses was to stick it to the media. Pathetic.
