“Shut Up & Kiss Me” sounds like it took a time machine to the present day from 1984, and I mean that in the best possible way. (A prequel to “Slide It In,” perhaps?)
The video is a throwback, too. The white Jaguar is back! (Tawny Kitaen is not.)
“Shut Up & Kiss Me” is the first single (if there is such a thing today) from the new Whitesnake LP, “Flesh & Blood,” which gets released May 10 with the ‘Snakes hitting the road starting the month before.
The album features the first writing co-operative between iconic vocalist David Coverdale and guitarist Reb Beach, who hails from this parish. Fellow six-stringer Joel Hoekstra is also heavily in the mix: Beach and Hoekstra are credited as producers, Coverdale as executive producer. (Why not? He owns the studio.)
Whitesnake play The Palace Theatre in Greensburg May 14. Besides “Flesh & Blood,” Whitesnake release a 35th anniversary ultimate special edition of “Slide It In” (my favorite ‘Snake album) May 8. Here they go again…
Then there’s the Geico motorcycle insurance commercial. It increases awareness in Whitesnake, and might gross more money than the tour.
