REVIEWING INTERFERENCE = MAYHEM

The NFL is too big to fail. That gets proven over and over.

Last night, Philadelphia DB Avonte Maddox clearly committed pass interference against Green Bay receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

No flag.

It went to replay.

No flag.

It was obvious interference. Not far from what caused all this, the no-call in last season’s NFC Championship Game.

No flag.

When you review a judgment call, all you do is judge it again. Idiosyncrasies still apply.

The NFL needs to ditch this immediately. It’s not working.

The only reason pass interference became subject to review is because everybody inside a 100-mile radius of New Orleans whined like babies after that call hurt the Saints in the NFC final. They acted like the Saints were the only team that ever got beat by a bad call.

But then social media acted like the Saints were the only team that ever got beat by a bad call. Twitter wouldn’t let it die.

So the NFL appeased.

The NFL is only committed to reviewing pass interference for one season. But they should drop it right now.

Allstate should do a “Mayhem” commercial about a pass interference review. It would be fitting.
