I'll never forget when my aunt came up to me at my engagement party, and offered me the strangest unsolicited marriage advice: never live together.

It started off as a decision we made when I had a job transfer across the country, and now we enjoy our own space and the flexibility to make the time we do spend together more intentional. When you don't see each other every day, you have the chance to miss each other and appreciate the little things that living together can allow you to take for granted.
