‘Soundcheck on Wylie Avenue’: Citizens Live at The Wylie to Welcome Fans for Special Preview Show on September 28

Headlined by Pittsburgh icon Donnie Iris & The Cruisers, $10 tickets will benefit the August Wilson African American Cultural Center

September 8, 2026 – Pittsburgh, PA – Fans have the chance to get a first look inside Pittsburgh’s newest music venue, and support a great cause, when Citizens Live at The Wylie opens its doors for a special preview show on Monday, September 28.

The event called Soundcheck on Wylie Avenue will feature a live performance by Pittsburgh music icon Donnie Iris & The Cruisers as well as NASH.V.ILL featuring Byron Nash, and TITLE TOWN Soul & Funk Party w/ J. Malls, Gordy G & Buscrates.

Fans will get an early chance to experience Citizens Live at The Wylie ahead of its first show on October 1, while celebrating the community and cultural roots of the Hill District. Tickets will be available for $10, with face-value proceeds benefiting the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.

“Playing for Pittsburgh has always meant a lot to me. The fans here bring so much energy, and it’s a thrill to be part of opening a brand-new venue. To do it with the Cruisers and support the important work of the August Wilson Cultural Center makes the night even more special. We’re ready to have a great time and bring some rock ’n’ roll to the Hill,” said Donnie Iris.

Citizens Live at The Wylie was designed with a strong sense of place. Inspired by the musical heyday of Wylie Avenue and the Hill District, the 4,000-capacity venue celebrates the people, music, and culture that helped shape the neighborhood while creating a new home for live entertainment in Pittsburgh.
