Ronnie James Dio, the Pavarotti of heavy rock, passed away eight years ago yesterday. His body of work is incredible, including three absolutely classic LPs: Rainbow’s “Rising,” Black Sabbath’s “Heaven and Hell,” and Dio’s “Holy Diver.” Ronnie was a guest on my show several times, and I enjoyed his appearances greatly. He was a great singer and a good man.
