OVECHKIN’S GAME-DAY MEAL

If I ate this – and I have, or at least a facsimile – I’d gain 15 pounds.

Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals eats it on game day, then goes out and scores goals.

Chicken parm, pasta, mushrooms, bread and four kinds of sauce. It sounds and looks delicious but, like Ovechkin’s teammate (and ex-Penguin) Brooks Orpik said, it’s “the kind of thing you want to take a five-hour nap after eating.

Next time I’m in D.C., I’ll be stopping at Mama Luccia. It took a while, but Mama Luccia finally got Ovie to the conference final.

I wonder what Sidney Crosby eats on game day. He doesn't eat that.
