THINGS DON'T CHANGE

During 40 games played (38 starts) with Chicago, QB Justin Fields fumbled 38 times. That's the most in the NFL from 2021-23.

In his exhibition debut with the Steelers, Fields fumbled twice.

Fields holds onto the ball too long. With the Bears last season, Fields' average time of release was 3.23 seconds, worst in the NFL.

In his exhibition debut with the Steelers, Fields got sacked twice. That was in three series (17 snaps).

In his exhibition debut with Philadelphia, ex-Steelers QB Kenny Pickett dropped back 23 times. He threw just four passes that traveled 10 or more yards in the air. Pickett was 0-for-4 on those.

Same as it ever was. Rarely throws downfield, fails when he tries.

Fields is 26. Pickett 25. They are what they are. They won't get fixed.

The Steelers ditched their first-round bust and brought in Chicago's first-round bust. There won't be a net gain.
