Hayley Williams Announces New Solo Music Is Coming In 2020

2018 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival - Day 2

Hayley Williams is releasing solo material next year!

The frontwoman of Paramore revealed her new music endeavor after receiving a flood of birthday wishes as the singer-songwriter celebrated her 31st birthday on Friday (December 27). “Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes,” Williams expressed in a Notes app screenshot via Twitter. “30 was a very important year. 31 will be too.”

Before concluding her note, the “Hard Times” musician goes on to hint at plans to drop a standalone project in the new year. “I’m putting out some music next year. With the help of some of my closest friends, I made something I’m going to call my own,” Williams teased before striking through the message. “It’s a really special project and you’ll get a taste of it in January. Happy New Year, friends.”

As anticipated, Paramore fans are very, very excited about what Williams has in store. “POP WILLIAMS IS COMING YALL BETTER HIDE YOUR MAIN GIRLS,” one user tweeted, as another hopeful fan added: “Whatever it is, be it Paramore related or not, I am all here for it and I am ecstatic at the fact that you're inspired to make music again. Thank you for existing.”

Paramore’s last effort, After Laughter, arrived in 2017. The latest record from the group — consisting of Williams and lead guitarist Taylor York — saw the return of original bandmate and drummer Zac Farro as well as the departure of longtime bassist Jeremy Davis, turning the band into a trio project.

Williams’ solo music announcement comes months after the songbird admitted she wasn’t sure what was next for her band despite previously stating she doesn’t see Paramore breaking up for good.
