JUSTIN FIELDS STINKS

ESPN constantly tells us about the Steelers' "quarterback battle," but none exists. That's a lie to fill up airtime. Russell Wilson is the starter.

That's good, because Justin Fields stinks.

We've invented optimism because of Fields' athleticism, he was a first-round pick, blah, blah, blah.

But Fields was an absolute bust in Chicago. Not necessarily worse than Kenny Pickett was for the Steelers, but Fields made a lot more mistakes..

Fields started 38 games for the Bears. He threw 30 interceptions. He fumbled 38 times.

Is Fields going to immediately stop throwing picks and cease his epidemic of fumbles?

Why, because Arthur Smith is a brilliant offensive coordinator, or just the magic of the Steelers logo? (That same logo hasn't won a playoff game in seven seasons.)

Not that Wilson is a guaranteed success.

Steelers fans think Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson is washed up. He might be.

But Watson seems much more likely to have a great season at 28 than Wilson is at 35.
