Today was supposed to be a day of celebration for BØRNS, who released a new EP called Honeybee, but it's hard to celebrate amidst the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires. Especially if you live in LA. The singer-songwriter penned an emotional message on Instagram, reflecting on the tragedy and juxtaposition of feelings on release day.

"my EP Honeybee is out [today] and the city that I’ve called home for over 10 years has experienced catastrophic loss and grief in the last week. I don’t quite have the words for that, but I’m finding ways to support my community, friends, and neighbors," he wrote. "It’s empowering to watch as communities are coming together to support and uplift each other in the face of a tragedy."

And the "Electric Love" artist hopes his music can be part of that support system. "I hope Honeybee can offer love, healing and celebration," he shared. "I have so much to be grateful for."

Honeybee comprises seven songs that pay homage to '60s and '70s icons like Elton John, The Beach Boys, and ELO. “This project is about finding love in new places, and it was incredibly exciting to create a record that felt so alive by tracking the songs with all live musicians,” BØRNS said in a statement. “Drawing inspiration from the classic records I grew up on, this EP feels like a celebration of everything that brings me joy.”
