BUCS CAN GET EVEN LATER

I was at PNC Park on Sunday. Paid a high price for a premium ticket to see the pitching duel of Paul Skenes vs. Jacob Misiorowski.

Then, less than 24 hours before, Milwaukee scratched Misiorowski.

The Pirates won 14-5. An interesting sidebar occurred when Brewers pitchers hit Bryan Reynolds twice and Ryan O'Hearn once.

There was a bit of pique where I was sitting. A few citizens raucously called for the Pirates to get even by plunking a Milwaukee batter.

The Pirates didn't.

Good move.

No need to instigate a brawl when you're winning handily.

There was especially no need to have Skenes do the honors. The last thing you want is Skenes at the bottom of a pile.

Win the game. Wait.

The Pirates next play the Brewers on Monday, August 3 at Milwaukee.

Hit Milwaukee's first batter.

Get even then.

If one of the Pirates' lesser pitchers is on the mound, somebody like Mitch Keller or Bubba Chandler, that's all the better.

Who cares if they wind up at the bottom of a pile?
