Serious allegations of sexual, psychological and physical abuse have been made against shock rocker Marilyn Manson, aka Brian Warner, by several women including actress and former fiancé Evan Rachel Wood. Trigger warning ahead for stories of sexual and psychological abuse.
The Westworld actress has been vocal in the past about abuse she suffered at the hands of a man she had met in her late teen years but had never specified who her alleged abuser was. For years, she had been confronted with press asking her point blank if it had indeed been Manson. The couple began their relationship in 2007 and by August of 2010 had called off their engagement but the timeline of their relationship had many suspecting that Marilyn Manson was indeed her abuser.
Evan Rachel Wood has finally clarified Manson was her abuser saying in an instagram post that “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
Several other women have now come forward with other accounts of abuse in an act of solidarity. A few of their posts are below and may be difficult to read.
Manson has yet to respond to these newest and more formal allegations. In the past, his representation has vehemently denied several similar stories. (And quite frankly, these stories have been getting pretty buried in terms of national coverage).
