Maynard James Keenan of Tool Reveals He Battled Covid Twice

There's a big question out there: Can you get Covid twice? Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan says "yes," after he revealed that he contracted COVID-19 a second time in November and was briefly in the hospital in December.

The Tool frontman spoke with Canadian radio host George Stroumboulopoulos and said, "I don't know if I said anything online, but I had it twice. Ugly, ugly. Couldn't breathe, couldn't put two words together without going into a coughing fit."

Maynard, has talked before about the lung damage he's suffered because of the virus as he implored everyone to take it seriously. He previously contracted Covid last February after a trip to New Zealand, says he caught it again later in the year and had to go to the emergency room. He says he almost ended up on a ventilator but there wasn't one available at the hospital.

He is not currently sick however, Maynard says he's still dealing with the effects of the virus and has frequent coughing fits.
