When Charlotte (Ashley Fliehr) left the ring after winning her sixth world title on WWE Smackdown last night, a familiar face was there to greet her at the top of the ramp: Her father, 16-time world champ Ric Flair.
They cried. I cried. What a moment.
The problems experienced by Ric throughout his life were duly noted on ESPN’s 30 for 30, “Nature Boy,” that chronicled his life. But he’s recovering from his health scare of three months ago, and events like last night do him a world of good.
Wrestling excellence must be hereditary. Ric is the best male performer in the history of the genre, and Charlotte is his female counterpart. It’s truly amazing.
