Listen to what Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports said about the New England Patriots’ domination of the Steelers in the Bill Belichick/Tom Brady era. It is accurate and specific, the Gettysburg Address of this so-called “rivalry.”
I’m not sure the Steelers can correct what Cowherd is talking about, or if the Steelers want to.
The Steelers are a players’ team. The players dictate the culture. The Steelers’ record is as good as the players play. New England is a coach’s team. The Patriots have a lot of talent, but Belichick pulls all the right strings. The resulting consistency, discipline and focus provide a tremendous edge.
Tomlin is a good coach. His record is excellent.
Belichick is a much better coach. There’s no remote comparison.
