New Jersey’s Taylor Hall should be NHL MVP. I give up. I can’t argue against Hall anymore.
The Devils are going to make the Stanley Cup playoffs. They have won three straight, and Hall has been on a tear down the stretch.
Hall had two goals and two assists last night as the Devils crushed the New York Rangers, 5-2. Hall is on a nine-game point streak. During that span he has eight goals and eight assists. Hall is now sixth in NHL scoring, and that’s good enough for me. Hall has fulfilled the requirements.
If Colorado makes the playoffs, Nathan MacKinnon could win it.
I’d have no problem with Evgeni Malkin getting it, or Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov.
Philadelphia’s Claude Giroux is semi-deserving, but F him.
Just so Connor McDavid doesn’t win MVP. He’s the scoring leader. But his Edmonton team is 19 points out of a playoff spot after being touted as a potential Stanley Cup finalist.
“Valuable”? Nope. Not valuable enough.
