SECOND-BEST, AT BEST

Connor McDavid is ripping apart the World Championships in Denmark. The NHL Network hosts wet their pants because he had a hat trick against Norway.

The key words in that sentence are “hat trick” and “Norway.” The word “Norway” means the words “hat trick” don’t matter.

The Edmonton Oilers were favored by many to win the Western Conference. McDavid couldn’t even get them in the playoffs.

So don’t get excited when McDavid goes to a B-list tournament and scores three goals against a C-list hockey nation. McDavid was stickhandling around Norwegian players like they were pylons. Because they are pylons.

Maybe Canada will win. They always do when Sidney Crosby is captain.

Crosby is still the world’s best hockey player. For my expanded thoughts, click HERE.
