Adam Lambert doesn’t imitate the late, great Freddie Mercury. He channels him. That’s why Queen + Adam Lambert works so delightfully. Great voice. Great persona. It’s not the same, but it’s damn close. Nobody compares. They just enjoy.
That certainly appeared the case at a rapturous PPG Paints Arena. Last night’s sellout packs some irony: When Queen last appeared in Pittsburgh (in 2006, with Paul Rodgers on vocals), Mellon Arena was half-full. The years, Lambert and the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” appear to have rallied local Queen fans.
Watch these videos to enjoy some Queen + Lambert. Check out the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. If the Steelers had cheerleaders, there surely would have been legitimately fat-bottomed girls on stage last night. Ride ‘em, cowboy.
