ANOTHER LED ZEP ARTIFACT

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page on stage with The Beach Boys?

It happened – just nine days before Live Aid, in fact.

The Beach Boys played Philadelphia and Washington on July 4, 1985, traveling by train between the two cities. Page joined them onstage for three songs: Little Richard’s “Lucille” in Philadelphia, “Surfin’ U.S.A.” and “Barbara Ann” in D.C.

It’s surreal. It’s the usual Beach Boys sound but, occasionally...up jumps Led Zeppelin and Jimmy shreds. Legends intersecting is always fun.

Also for your enjoyment: Page jams with Aerosmith at London's Marquee Club in 1990. A bit more traditional.
