If you think Jack Johnson gets abused on Twitter, read my TribLive column by clicking HERE and learn how bad Ron Stackhouse got excoriated by home fans when he played defense for the Penguins from 1974-82. It was vicious. It was in-person. It was constant. It was loud. Stackhouse was much better than Johnson, too.
“HIT ‘EM WITH YOUR PURSE, STACKHOUSE!” "GET TO THE OUTHOUSE, STACKHOUSE!"
This video is great in several ways: Stackhouse scores, the Penguins uniforms are awesome, Greg Malone (Ryan’s father) can be seen (he’s No. 12) and the announce team is two legends, Channel 11 stalwart Sam Nover and Jack Riley, the first-ever Penguins GM (both RIP).
The Penguins won this game, 6-4, but lost the best-of-three preliminary-round playoff series to Toronto, two games to one. It was Jack Johnson’s fault.
