Here is the Tom Wilson incident from last night’s Washington-New York Rangers game:
That is a criminal act.
The aftermath was:
*Wilson preened and posed in the penalty box.
*His coach, Peter Laviolette, said it was just a scrum.
*The Capitals posted what they thought was a funny meme on Twitter. (Since deleted.)
*ESPN’s “lead hockey writer” said we were all overreacting.
*The Rangers’ Artemi Panarin left the game and will not play again this season.
*Wilson got fined $5,000. No suspension.
It is absolutely impossible to love hockey.
