Any complaints about sponsor logos on NHL sweaters = much ado about nothing. (That starts in the 2022-23 season. Why not right now? Good question.)
The logos won’t cover the front of the jerseys like in European soccer or as ESPN’s John Buccigross jokes. They must fit within a rectangle measuring 3 inches by 3.5 inches. Not big, and no big deal.
The NHL gets far less TV revenue than any other North American sports league. It needs every cent it can get, especially in the wake of the money-draining pandemic.
