DON'T START SLOW IN BEN'S HOME FINALE

The Steelers start slow.

They haven’t scored a touchdown in the first half of their last five games. The last time the Steelers did that was 1940.

The Steelers have trailed by 23 or more at halftime of their last three road games. That hadn’t happened before in NFL history.

The Steelers start slow.

Or maybe the Steelers just stink.

Monday night’s game isn’t on the road. It will have a first half.

The foe is Cleveland. It’s very likely Ben Roethlisberger’s last home game, as he said today. Roethlisberger is 25-3-1 lifetime against the Browns. The Browns are a rival, and Roethlisberger's bitch.

It’s not only Roethlisberger’s probable Heinz Field swan song, the Steelers are fighting for their playoff lives. (Winning the AFC North gets Roethlisberger a playoff home game.)

There’s no excuse for coming out slow Monday.

This is where we find out if the Steelers have any adrenaline at all.

When you start poorly all the time, you lack heart. You lack focus. You lack professionalism. You lack character. You lack leadership. You lack balls. You lack so much.

Let’s see if the Steelers dare lack all that, or any of that, for Roethlisberger’s final game at Heinz Field and with everything to play for literally and emotionally.
