Ex-Steeler Joey Porter is a great football dad.
Listen to what he says to his son, Joey Jr., after the Penn State cornerback dropped out of the NFL draft’s first round:
Porter talks his son off the ledge and pumps him up at the same time. Every word is perfect. He motivates without going over the top. It’s not hateful or negative.
Well done, Peezy.
Joey Jr. got drafted by the Steelers with the first pick of the second round. He will wear No. 24 in tribute to “Uncle Ike,” former Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor. That’s according to “Uncle Ike” and is not yet confirmed by Joey Jr.
No word on whether the tribute will extend to dropping interceptions and/or signing autographs using block letters.
