“Justified” was a TV series starring Timothy Olyphant as an Old-West-style lawman living and policing in modern times. It ran from 2010-15 on FX. It was brilliant.
Now it’s back. Olyphant reprises his role as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylen Givens in “Justified: City Primeval.” The series premieres on FX July 18.
Givens is stationed in Detroit. Seems promising. Detroit, you may have heard, has a reputation for crime.
Givens will likely be angry most of the time. That’s good.
Nobody looks mad better than Olyphant, who perfected such as Sherriff Seth Bullock in HBO’s “Deadwood,” which ran from 2004-06 and spawned a sequel movie in 2019. Olyphant has this glare/stare/grimace that can't be topped.
