THE PENS WON, BUT...

The Penguins got another much-needed victory Tuesday, winning 2-0 at Anaheim.

Tristan Jarry excelled in goal before getting hurt. Andre the Giant finished up, also doing well. (The latter should have crushed Dan Potash’s skull with his bare hands during the post-game interview, then thrown his head back and laughed heartily.) Jarry and the Giant totaled 32 saves to get the combined shutout.

But the Penguins need to wise up. Brain cramp was evident.

*Evgeni Malkin evened up a power play with a penalty.

*The Penguins conceded a clean, long three-on-two while protecting a 1-0 lead with five minutes left. The neutral zone was desolate. But the Giant made a good save.

*Jake Guentzel went needlessly offside, negating an empty-net goal by Noel Acciari that would have made it 2-0. (Sidney Crosby bailed Guentzel out by going airborne on the backhand seconds later to get the ENG. That’s what a captain does. Guentzel even got an assist.)

If you’re serious people, those things must be eliminated. Especially with the Penguins not scoring like they should. (Except against San Jose.)
