THROUGH THE PAST, WEAKLY

In the Steelers' last four playoff games, they:

*Fell behind Buffalo, 21-0.

*Fell behind Kansas City, 35-7.

*Fell behind Cleveland, 28-0.

*Fell behind Jacksonville, 21-0.

They're no doubt hoping for a better start Saturday night at Baltimore.

Then again, who knows what Mike Tomlin's game plan will be?

In Week 13, the Steelers outscored Cincinnati, 44-38. They won a shootout.

Then, this past Saturday vs. the Bengals, Tomlin did a 180-degree pivot from that strategy and tried to control the clock via running the ball.

Here's how that went: Cincinnati had possession for 38 minutes and the Steelers rushed for 74 yards on 23 carries.

Tomlin ditched what had succeeded against that specific foe to indulge his prehistoric vision of football and the element of surprise.

They know that we know that they know that we know...

It was probably good that Cincinnati got a pick-six to end the Steelers' first possession in Week 13. That made the Steelers chase the game and open up their offense.

Given their recent past playoff history, the Steelers will be chasing the game again on Saturday.
