[WATCH] Rage Against The Machine' First Public Performance 29 Years Ago

It was 29 years ago that a band called Rage Against The Machine performed for the first time in public. This set took place at California State University in Northridge, CA on October 23rd, 1991. Just to give you a timetable, Rage Against the Machine didn't even get into the studio to record their debut album at this point. That came in April of 1992. It it BIZARRE to think they opened up the whole show playing the instrumental for what would eventually become KILLING IN THE NAME. It's incredible how good this set was for it being their very first ever in public too. There are bands that go out and play for years and never nail it as good as the guys did here. I'm glad I was reminded of this anniversary - conveniently by the RATM Instagram account.
